One of the greatest compliments to a breeder is to have specimens they bred compared on the highest level in the AKC show ring. To be judged by a professional in the ring amongst other show specimens is truly a special attribute. I am proud to say that my dogs over the past several years have been 1st or in the top 3 in every show Old World Mastinos has entered. I owe alot of that credit to those breeders in Italy whos lines I used to start my line. It is NO secret that the lineage of my Old World line all goes back to 2 WORLD CHAMPION Mastinos. They are World Champion Brigante Del Castellaccio and World Champion Carnera Della Grotta Azzurra

Head: Short and massive, with the cranium being very wide at the level of the zigomatic arches (cheek bones). The length of the head is about three-tenths the height at the withers. The skin is abundant, with wrinkles and folds; the most typical and the best deliniated of which is the fold which extends from the external angle of the eyelids to the external angle of the lips. The upper longitudinal axes of the skull and the muzzle are parallel.

skin: Copious all over the body, particularly the head, where it forms numerous folds and wrinkles, and at the ventral margin of the neck, where it forms a dewlap. The color of the mucosae and the epidermis must be black or brown according to the darker hairs of the coat. The nails and digital cushions should be dark in color.

Chest: Wide, very open, with very well-developed pectoral muscles, it's width, which is in direct proportion to the ribcage, as measured between it's lateral boundaries (the upper anterior margins of the arms), should attain 40-45% of the height at the withers. The manubrium of the sternum should be positioned at the same level as the point of the shoulder.
